Emmalie Tello (she/her) is a New York City-based clarinetist, teaching artist, and entrepreneur. She has performed at venues including Carnegie Hall and several halls at Lincoln Center, and with esteemed groups like the International Contemporary Ensemble and the Martha Graham Dance Company. An ardent fan of contemporary music, she regularly collaborates with composers and has premiered and recorded dozens of new works. She is the resident clarinetist for NYSoundCircuit’s ensemble, Resonant Refractions, dedicated to performing works by living composers.
She is a co-founder of "Art Beyond the Ink,” an educational enterprise which uses interdisciplinary performance to encourage audiences to be creative listeners. She has taught from early childhood to the collegiate level and has been invited to work with students from the Youth Orchestra of St. Luke’s to the Hunter Symphony at Hunter College. She holds degrees (BM 2019; MA 2020) from the New School College of Performing Arts, and she is completing her studies in Contemporary Clarinet Performance at the Manhattan School of Music.
