Jerrica Jenkins began her journey with the violin at age 11 in her middle school’s orchestra program. She went on to participate in the South Carolina Region and All-State Orchestras, the Brevard Music Festival in Brevard, NC in 2016, Cortona Sessions for New Music in Italy in 2019, and was a member of the University of South Carolina (UofSC) Symphony from 2017 to 2020. Miss Jenkins holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from UofSC where she began teaching private lessons in 2018. In the past, Miss Jenkins has also interned at the Tri-District Arts Consortium for 3 summers, leading sectionals and teaching music theory courses.
She believes that it is possible for anyone to learn an instrument, no matter their age, background, or previous musical experience; music has something to offer everyone, and it does not matter whether you like classical, rock, alternative, baroque, or pop. Miss Jenkins’ greatest hope is to help people find a deeper love and appreciation for music and to have fun while doing it.
