Wesley Catherine Hamilton (she/her) is a violist and music theorist native to Augusta, Georgia. She completed her Bachelor’s degrees in Music Performance and Music Theory in the spring of 2020 at the University of Georgia’s Hugh Hodgson School of Music under the tutelage of Prof. Maggie Snyder and Dr. Emily Gertsch. Wesley spent the 2020-2021 school year teaching violin, viola, and cello in the Richmond County Orchestra Program in her hometown of Augusta. She oversaw programs in six schools in the South Augusta region and taught grades 4-12.
Additionally, Wesley maintained a private studio, tutored students in music theory, and played with the Augusta Symphony. Wesley is excited to attend Peabody Institute at Johns Hopkins University to begin her Master’s in Viola Performance and Pedagogy under the instruction of Prof. Victoria Chiang. In her spare time, Wesley loves to play video games and spend time with her friends and family.
