Keshav Srinivasan is a filmmaker and writer based in Brooklyn, NY. He is a graduate of the Dodge College of Film and Media Arts from Chapman University with an emphasis on directing. He has been involved in several film production projects and his latest, award winning short film, Living in Anger, has been accepted into multiple festivals, including the European Cinematography Awards and the Florence Film Festival. He also obtained his Master's degree in Film and Screen Studies at the University of Cambridge.
His latest piece of academic writing, To Pimp a Proletariat: Fighting the Power With the Kino-Fist, is a 72 page long dissertation that analyzes the techniques of early Soviet Cinema and how they have evolved into the modern hip hop music video. In addition to his academic background, Keshav has also been a film critic, writing for publications like Film Matters and Merry-Go-Round Magazine. As a result, he has extensive knowledge on both film production and theory and will be able to incorporate both into his lessons.
