Evan Petratos grew up in Easley, South Carolina and began playing the tuba when he was 12 years old. He acquired a love for the instrument and continued playing in high school. Evan spent two years at his local high school and was then accepted to the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities. While at the Governor’s School he studied with Mr. John Sizemore and Dr. David Hamilton. Evan currently holds two degrees, in tuba performance and computer science, from Bard College and the Bard College Conservatory of Music. His primary teachers are Derek Fenstermacher and Marcus Rojas.
